Smooth West Midlands MD to rejoin BRMB as sales director
The Drum has learned that Jane Davies, managing director of Smooth Radio West Midlands, is to rejoin BRMB later this year as its sales director.
Davies rejoins BRMB, now owned by Orion Media, three years after leaving her role there as head of sales for Smooth where she was initially sales director.
A spokesperson for Smooth confirmed Davies departure at the end of this week from the station.
“Jane will leave at the end of this week and will spend a period of time on gardening leave before joining Orion Media. Sarah Whitaker will take on the role of acting sales director in the meantime and will have a focus on the commercial side of the business,” the spokesperson added.
Adrian Serle, commercial director at Orion Media, who Davies will report to, told The Drum; “Our ambition is to restore BRMB to its historic high and someone of Jane’s calibre, the respect that she has in the market and her knowledge is a real testament to the fact that we are very ambitious in what we want to achieve by bringing in really good quality people.”
He added that no starting date had yet been agreed for Davies to begin.
The move to appoint Davies follows Greg Parker, former sales manager’s move to work in a ‘new revenue’ role at Orion Media.
