Visit Devon has appointed A Head for PR to promote the county as a visitor destination.

The tourism organisation wants to increase the number of visitors to Devon by promoting the county as a quality visitor destination for business or leisure all year round.

Rosie Bates, general manager of Visit Devon, said, "Devon needed to ensure that we chose an agency that would be able to communicate the Devon charisma across the complete range of media channels.

"In a competitive pitch, A Head for PR came up with some really creative ideas and we are confident that their originality and enthusiasm, combined with their experience and creativity, will deliver what we want for Visit Devon."

Jane Adkins, who set up Dorset-based A Head for PR in June last year, said: "I will be working with independent PR consultant Gail Livingstone who is also based in the South West.

"Together we have a wealth of experience, having previously worked on other tourism accounts including Visit Cornwall, Isle of Wight Tourism, and the Gardens of Cornwall."
