A restructure at Glasgow marketing agency Frame will see the departure of group operations director George Cumming, co-creative director David Ayesbury and senior copy writer Adam Smith, while Gary O’Donnell has taken on the role of managing director.

O’Donnell joined the agency in 2007 and participated in its MBO in 2008, having previously been MD at TBWA Edinburgh. Prior to that, he had worked in London agencies for over a decade.

It is understood that Cumming will leave the agency ‘to purse other interests’ having held various positions at the agency in his nine years there.

Cumming was also one of the directors involved in the MBO in September 2008, alongside O’Donnell, Angus Walker, creative director and Keith Bolton, who left the agency last year.

Ownership of the company is now held by O’Donnell, Walker and chairman Graham Atha, with Walker taking sole creative charge of the creative team following the departure of Aylesbury who joined Frame from The Union in 2007.

The final aspect of the restructure will see Eilidh MacDonald promoted to become head of design while designer Adam Gourlay has been recruited and will report to her.

O’Donnell said: “Frame is a special place and I’m very pleased and proud to be asked to lead it. These latest changes reflect the changing needs of our clients.”

The restructure follows the loss of the Bulmers advertising account to St Lukes in February, although the agency has picked up the integrated account for First Milk’s Lake District Cheese Company last month, following a four-way pitch.

The appointment will see £1m of investment spent on marketing the Lake District Cheese brand across the UK through advertising, promotional activity, in-store and digital work for the client.

Paul Murray, marketing director at First Milk commented: "We appointed Frame due to a combination of good strategic thinking allied with creative excellence. We are very pleased to be working with Frame and are very excited about our new campaign which we are sure will continue the excellent growth of the Lake District brand."
