With the launch of the new series of Doctor Who beginning last weekend, magneticNorth’s Doctor Who Video Explorer also began on the official BBC website.

The explorer allows fans to have a sneak peak behind the scenes at the new series and see how it was created by talking to the cast and crew while also featuring clips with Matt Smith who plays the 11th Doctor, head writer Steven Moffat and the series stunt coordinator.

Behind the scene content will be uploaded through out the series.

This is the first commission for magneticNorth from BBC Wales, which has previously worked on BBC commissions including BBC Memoryshare, BBC Earth for BBC Worldwide, BBC Pinball and Election Story for BBC Radio 5 Live.

Brendan Dawes, creative director for magneticNorth, said: "Like many people, having grown-up with Doctor Who it was a real thrill to work with the Doctor Who team, especially this being the first series with the new doctor. We realised we had to create something that was inherently Doctor Who in its look and feel, so when we started we asked ourselves 'if the Doctor had a video player what would it be?' Our answer was a floating "curious cube", that allows visitors to view exclusive content in a easy, yet most importantly playful way."

Yesterday it was announced that Sumo digital was creating a Doctor Who adventure game series for the BBC.
