Design consultancy Uniform has created the brand for the regenerated RopeWalks area of Liverpool city centre.

RopeWalks, previously part of the Old Dock of Liverpool, underwent a regeneration programme in the late-1990s and in recent times the area has become a growing centre for Liverpool's night-time economy and creative industries.

Liverpool City Council appointed Uniform to create the branding in February, after a tender process. The agency was asked to provide brand consultation and to develop an identity that would "capture the unique personality of RopeWalks and position it as a distinct and exciting, must-visit place".

Uniform's design director, Tim Sharp, said: "Uniform is based in the RopeWalks, so creating a brand for the area we spend most of our working lives in has been great. We believe the brand should work as the pivotal, unifying factor for the RopeWalks, and we’re looking forward to seeing it develop over the next few months."

A new website for RopeWalks - www.ropewalksliverpool.co.uk - is being created by Digltal Blah Blah. The website, which will fully go live "within the next couple of months", will be used to promote the area and its activities to visitors and provide an online hub for residents, businesses and the RopeWalks community.

RopeWalks' development is being driven by The Creative RopeWalks Stakeholders Group whose members include representatives from The Mersey Partnership, Liverpool City Council and local businesses and residents.
