Design Event North East set to ride again

The Design Event North East, a festival which celebrates the region's design community, will return again this year having received funding from the Arts Council.

The event has been scheduled to take place this year between 22-31 October, while the call for submissions will close next week on 31 March.

This year, four events will be held centrally as well as a series of exhibitions and events being delivered by other galleries, studios and groups across the region.

The central events includes the Design Event MART which will take place at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary and will showcase new work by leading North East designers, the Art of Conversation; large-scale exhibition of graphics and Illustration work by national and international designers responding to the theme and exhibited in public spaces, Pecha Kucha – which showcases inspiration from the region’s creatives and a series of behind-the-scenes talks and discussions with design studios.
