The Central Office of Information (COI) has announced that it is to review its framework of press production suppliers, worth up to £1m a year.

The review has been called four years after it was first established, with the new framework set to be a ‘single supplier’ contract following a procurement process which will be appointed on the basis of proven ability across supply of press ready files to publications; Digital / soft proofs to specification, on the correct paper stock, with the appropriate ink weights and profiles include, Transmission to publications via their requested mode, Digital management asset system; In-house creative studio and design resource; Illustration/visualisation for research stimulus/presentations; Online production and resizing on online ads; and 24 hour service Monday to Saturday and Sunday by arrangement.

Martin Humphreys, deputy director of COI’s,Channel Integration Management explained the need to consolidate the framework, saying that the pressure was now even greater on the public sector to achieve ‘more for less.’

“This press production framework review is a great opportunity to achieve the improved efficiencies that a single supplier contract will bring,” he added.

All interest should be registered on the COI e-tendering site at coi.bravosolution.co.uk and complete the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) by 15 April.
