Mercedes GP Petronas, the new look Formula 1 team which Michael Schumacher will make his return to the racing circuit with, is working with Origin Creative on the launch marketing for its new team wear and apparel ranges.

Cheshire-based Origin has been appointed by the team's official clothing and footwear supplier Henri Lloyd to create and produce the launch marketing material for the Mercedes GP range.

It is thought that the work will include press adverts, social media and POS campaigns, all for the global market.

The campaign will feature the three drivers heavily and aims to replicate the iconic Silver Arrows Mercedes teams of the 30’s and 50’s, the look adopted by the Mercedes GP team.

The new F1 season sees Schumacher – hailed as the most successful F1 driver of all time – return to the sport after a three year absence to join The Mercedes GP Petronas team, which also includes Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld.

As the story broke, no one from Origin was available for comment.
