British Airways has appointed AkzoNobel's Kerris Bright as its new head of global marketing.

The former chief marketing officer for AkzoNobel will report to British Airways' sales and marketing director, Andrew Crawley.

He said: "This is one of the top marketing jobs in the industry and I am confident her experience will help us transform our business through innovative and creative marketing campaigns worldwide."

Bright described her new job as a "unique and exciting opportunity" and said she was joining "arguably the most iconic and prestious brand in the country".

She started her career in 1991 as a marketing graduate trainee with Unilever, before going on to senior marketing and general management roles in Quest International and Unipath.

ICI Paints appointed her UK marketing director in 2001 and when AkzoNobel acquired the company in 2008 she took on its chief marketing role.

AkzoNobel board member Tex Gunning, said: “We’ve made great progress with our global marketing activities under her expert guidance and she leaves with our best wishes for the next phase of her career.”
