Gaming and digital PR agency Ink Media is to work alongside South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung as it launches a new mobile application store in the UK.

The launch will see Samsung hold an application development talent contest with cash prizes of up to $100,000 for finalists.

The Edinburgh agency will look to raise the profile of Samsung and the application.

Dave Cook, managing director of Ink Media, commented: “Having only launched Ink Media in February this year, I am pleased to have secured business with a client of Samsung’s calibre so early in the company’s life. The Samsung Application Store is a great service that will allow the manufacturer to compete in the mobile software market. Perhaps most importantly, the store will offer developers a healthy share of the profits, which will be welcome news to independent studios or programming students looking for their first break into the industry.”
