PPA Scotland announces 2009 magazine award winners
The Dumfries & Galloway Life has been named by the PPA Scotland as Scottish Magazine of the Year.
Printed by CN Group Magazines in Carlisle, the magazine was also the winner in the Consumer Magazine category.
Also presented on the event was the new Murray Cochran Award to recognise outstanding services to individuals in the Scottish Magazine industry. This was presented to Robin Hodge, publisher of The List.
Fraser Allen, chairman of PPA Scotland and managing director of White Light Media, said: “Robin has done more than just encourage and nurture the careers of a generation of Scottish journalists, writers and publishing professionals. Thanks to The List’s long-term championing of Scottish artists, musicians and authors, he has ensured that the Scottish magazine industry played its part in developing a cultural self-confidence which, in turn, contributed to Scotland’s political devolution.”
