Bauer Media’s Big City Network radio stations in England has appointed Euro RSCG Biss Lancaster in Manchester to work alongside The Big Partnership in Scotland and Morrow Communications in Northern Ireland to handle its PR.

The Biss Lancaster account team, led by board director Melissa Hinds, will provide strategic planning and communications support as well as handling station, network, trade, and corporate projects.

Catherine Gort, head of marketing and communications for Big City, said: "We want to make the news, not simply report it, by the development of big communications ideas to get cut through and by originating strong creative platforms to engage all our audiences.”

Hinds added: "The media landscape is fast changing but radio will always have a place in people's hearts, even more so these days when ‘life is local’. We aim to really connect and engage with local communities through great musicality and local news and interest pieces to make sure that the Big City Network stations are very much part of everyday life in those areas where they broadcast.”

She continued to explains that by working with the communication teams at Key 103 in Manchester, Radio City in Liverpool and Rock FM across Lancashire, the agency aimed to highlight that all of the stations continue to produce “world class, locally made radio” which were delivered by passionate teams who understand their local audiences.
