Nokia, will be at Leeds Metropolitan University’s Rose Bowl building later this month to provide an insight into development opportunities in the mobile application marketplace, as they speak to the region’s developers, designers and digital agencies

This is an opportunity to gain an insight into working with Nokia, find out more about the Ovi application store and hear about Nokia’s current app development initiatives.

Over the past twelve months there has been a shift in development opportunities within the mobile marketplace, with downloadable applications to consumer handsets now offering new business models for app creators.

Screen Yorkshire, supported by Leeds Metropolitan University, has worked with Nokia to bring this event to Leeds, giving Yorkshire’s digital community the opportunity to meet representatives from Nokia, learn more about their Ovi store and find out about market opportunities for developers to create content within the mobile application marketplace.

Emma Cheshire, head of industry development at Screen Yorkshire said: “We’re delighted to be working with Nokia to present what we hope will be an exciting and informative event for the region’s digital companies. Yorkshire is home to some of the country’s best digital agencies and developers, and whilst mobile platforms offer companies real opportunities, the market is very competitive. Up-to-the-minute information has never been more important in maintaining that competitive edge.”
