Newcastle digital agency Orange Bus has appointed Chris Rhodes as non-executive director as it looks embark on its plans to grow following a year where the company has doubled in size.

Rhodes is vice president, EMEA at Radialpoint and director of Aspen Adventures has over 15 years experience in technology, media and internet marketing having also been involved in the development and launch of Talk Talk’s Free Broadband service in the UK.

He will join Orange Bus as it embarks on an aggressive growth strategy ahead of its target of reaching a £1million turnover in the next 12months.

Rhodes said that the last three years of investment for Orange Bus had paid off and the firm now has a recurring customer base on which to build rapid but controlled growth: “The time is perfect for Orange Bus to take their unique approach to new markets, they’ve had enough feedback and they know what they need to do.” he said.

“It’s easy to say a firm is unique but Orange Bus really does have an ability to challenge the norm without upsetting the norm - I’ve watched these guys pitch in some big corporations in London and they instantly engage with them.”

Julian Leighton, managing director of Orange Bus, said: “Among his many other successes, Chris was an integral part of the revolution which transformed the way people bought their broadband; growing the Talk Talk business to more than a million customers in its first year. His focus, experience, network of knowledge and contacts in new technology specifically will enable Orange Bus to go to the next level.”
