Industry body The Consumer Forum has been set up in conjunction between Manchester-digital agency Reading Room and several brands.

Other co-founders of the body which will look to allow members to share their experiences online of customer service, includes LOVEFiLM and the King of Shaves which will use feedback to develop new products and guage customer demand.

The Forum will also aim to champion the value of the consumer experience, pushing for its recognition in Government policy, the media and across all levels of business.

Other 'like-minded' brands are now being sought to join the forum and get involved as it looks to develop a platform for exchanging ideas regarding customer relations.

Members will benefit from sharing best practice, as well as a bespoke public affairs and public relations campaign – propelling the Consumer Forum and its members onto the political and media agendas.

Margaret Manning, CEO of Reading Room, commented: “Reading Room seeks to continually improve our user-centred approach to web design and development through experience gained working with a wide variety of customers, and internet users. Our involvement in the Consumer Forum is a commitment to best practice in this area, and will enable us to feed even more expertise into our clients’ projects.”
