Manchester agency JudgeGill has marked its 16th year by launching a 50 page book.

Entitled “nine stories with a few words”, the book contains an insight into the retail design and brand experience agency and its projects, plus in-depth features and ideas addressing key issues currently facing brand marketers and heads of retail.

Kevin Gill, managing director of JudgeGill, said: “We’ve designed some amazing spaces in which brands retail their products on high streets worldwide – so what better way to share our favourite projects from the past few years than in a book.

“But in addition to the pretty pictures we want to communicate how our profession has moved on, and that the powerful communication channel of environment design is now extremely complex with the inclusion of multimedia and cutting edge technologies, as well as the more expected areas of concept, product display, material, furniture and services design.

“We know how to make retail a brand experience and, more importantly, how to make those brand experiences effective and profitable; our book helps us to show how we do it.”

Work showcased in the book includes projects for Fred Perry, Russian mobile phone network provider MTS, Hertz, SanDisk and KIN – a Pop up project for a collaboration of artists. Also featured in detail is the agency’s work for Adidas, with case studies on its evolution of Adidas’ retail experience (in Beijing, China), miCoach Core Skills in-store experience package, mi Performance product and Porche Design Sport (Paris, France).

The book has been designed to encourage personalisation, interaction and comment, with space for written input, a requirement to tear open pages in the book to reveal more and bound in pages containing the thought pieces.
