A DVD for NHS Health Scotland and the Scottish Bowel Screening Programme has been created by Redpath with the aim of improving screening rates.

The 10-minute DVD aims to raise awareness and understanding of the programme among all men and women aged from 50 to 74 and has a particular focus on those in harder to reach groups.

The DVD highlights the importance of participation in bowel screening and demonstrates how to complete the screening test at home. It also takes into account people for whom English is not their first language and people with disabilities, and addresses concerns or fears they may have.

Redpath, the Edinburgh-based design and communication agency, worked closely with NHS Health Scotland and the programme team to develop a practical and engaging visual approach – including a ‘How to do the Test’ animation – as well as an informative and accessible script.

Greenroom films were the production company on the project.
