As part of the North East's annual design festival Design Event 2009 (DE09) a documentary about people's relationships with manufactured objects will be screened this

The film called Objectified is a feature-length documentary about manufactured objects and the people who are responsible for designing them. Within the film, the designers will re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent the manufactured environment, as we know it on a daily basis.

Personal expression, identity, consumerism and sustainability are explored throughout Objectified and it looks at everything from toothbrushes to technology gadgets.

Gary Hustwitt, the film creator uses vérité footage and in-depth conversations to show the creative processes of the world's leading product designers, and the how they impact our lives.

The primary questions the film focuses on is what can we learn about who we are, and who we want to be, from the objects with which we surround ourselves.
