Shooting Star PR has been appointed to handle the regional and national public relations accounts of Invest Lincolnshire and the Greater Lincoln Partnership.

The Lincoln-based agency, set up in 2006 by former University of Lincoln PROs Jez Ashberry and Kate Strawson (pictured), has been hired by Invest Lincolnshire to help it promote the county as "a great place to work, live, visit and invest".

Invest Lincolnshire is the economic investment and regeneration arm of Lincolnshire County Council and Shooting Star PR is the first external agency to be asked to handle its PR brief.

Investment and marketing manager at the organisation, Shelagh Coates, said: “We have selected Shooting Star PR as our preferred PR suppliers because of their good contacts and their extensive experience of public sector PR."

The agency will work to help the Greater Lincoln Partnership meet its objective to raise the level of economic development and increase the prosperity of the population in an area which includes Gainsborough, Sleaford and North Hykeham as well as the city of Lincoln.

Shooting Star PR director Ashberry said: "We are delighted to have won the accounts for Invest Lincolnshire and the GLP. We are keen to promote the county as an excellent place to live and work and to encourage greater investment in the area.”
