Image Foundry acquires Redhound Studio to launch games arm

3D visualisation firm Image Foundry Studios, based in Manchester, has launched Gaming Foundry.

Harris joins as art manager and has over 18 years experience in the games industry working on a variety of titles including Sony’s franchises; Lemmings, Formula1 and Wipe-Out, iwith companies ranging from Psygnosis, Sony, Visual Science and Climax Studios.

Elms, now Gaming Foundry’s VP of business development, co-founded Warthog Games Ltd in 1997 which became an international games development company working for top tier publishers such as EA, Universal, Warner Brothers, THQ, Activision, Microsoft and Infogrames/Atari.

As part of the moves, Gaming Foundry acquired Redhound Studios. John Harris, CEO at Redhound said “This move is great for Redhound we’re now part of a bigger team with a wide range of experience, Gaming Foundry offer a very high-end and competitive service for game developers, we’d been looking for the right move and are very excited about the future.”

Gaming Foundry is one of four companies under the Image Foundry brand. Movie Foundry, Advertising Foundry and Property Foundry, have also been established as part of the restructure.

“We’re excited to be exploring this area in more depth, which will enable the business to grow our talented team of game artists and focus on the creation of high quality game artwork,” said Kapoor.

Image Foundry Studios, which director Anshul Kapoor and brother and co-director Anand established eight years ago, creates 3D visualisation and animation for film, TV and advertising. Clients include the BBC, Coca Cola, National Geographic, Granada and Discovery Chanel. Image Foundry currently has studios in the UK and India.
