A campaign for care home company The Balhousie Care Group has been created by Mindshelf, featuring residents from the various homes.

A series of six adverts have been produced for the Forfar based company which began broadcast on STV North and STV Dundee last week, running through to spring next year.

The ‘Care Is....’ campaign, filmed over two days at Balhousie’s homes in Kirriemuir and Pitlochry, depicts a series of typical ‘caring moments’ that occur in the course of a normal week at a Balhousie care home.

Ross Smith, director of Mindshelf, said: “There is very clear and compelling evidence, compiled over the past sixty plus years, that companies investing in their brand during an economic downturn are almost always the ones that emerge stronger as the upturn occurs. Coupled with that, the Balhousie Care story is one that is certainly very worth telling.

“The decision was made to invite actors and actresses from local amateur dramatic clubs in addition to working with three professional actors. The average age of all the “stars” of the TV commercials was actually 81, just three years “younger” than the average age of our 750 residents the week of filming so they do represent the resident age group very closely.”
