Invest Thames Gateway has appointed Leeds agency fuse8 to handle its international lead generation services following a six-way pitch against agencies from London and New York.

ITG is the regeneration programme that drives investment in the Thames Gateway, a 40-mile stretch of land on both sides of the River Thames ranging from London's Docklands to Southend in Essex and Sheerness in Kent.

To win the business, fuse8 said it carried out a strategic review of ITG’s current exhibition programme and proposed integrated tactical activity in the key sectors of environmental technology, financial and business services and ports and logistics within the United States, Indochina and Europe.

Under the two-year contract, fuse8 will manage events this year including US property conference CoreNet in Las Vegas, international sustainable construction event Greenbuild in Arizona and the Islamic Banking Conference in Bahrain.

Next year it will help ITG exhibit at the IFAT environmental technology event in Munich and the Multimodal ports exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC.

The agency will also design and produce exhibition stands, organise events at conferences and host seminars.

ITG's events will be pushed by database marketing, email marketing, direct mail and literature and advertising support.

Fuse8's managing director, Nigel Hunter (pictured), said: "ITG has a strong proposition and we are looking forward to working with them to deliver their objectives and drive more investment into the Thames Gateway.”
