Soreen has appointed Tangerine to handle its PR as the snack brand celebrates its 50-year anniversary.

As well as promoting the milestone, the Manchester PR firm will run a consumer and trade press office and oversee the launch of a range of new products.

The agency has been briefed to spread the word about the malt loaf brand to a new, younger audience, re-engage lapsed consumers and interact with loyal customers.

Sarah-Louise Heslop, marketing manager for Soreen, said the anniversary is a key milestone in the history of the Manchester-based brand.

"We have tasked Tangerine with putting Soreen firmly back on consumers’ shopping lists, as well as supporting our relationships with trade buyers," Heslop said.

"Soreen is entering an exciting new phase of development and has a strong new management team in place to ensure the brand achieves its growth potential," she added.

Tangerine said it is recruiting "at all levels" to handle its new business success.

Soreen last week opened a new website built by Birmingham agency Switch.
