Bottled water brand Highland Spring is to sponsor cycling event The Tour of Britain which takes place next month and the Prostate Cancer Charity Tour.

The Tour of Britain begins in Yorkshire and will include eight stages over a seven day period as cyclists make their way to the finish line in London.

This will be supported by a host of ancillary cycling events.

The Highland Spring brand will feature on the Tour of Britain starting and finishing boards, the website and campaign material and the professional teams, crew and volunteer marshals will be supplied with Highland Spring throughout the tour.

Highland Spring will also be provided to all participants of the Prostate Cancer Charity Tour Rides – a series of inaugural Tour Ride events for cyclists of all levels, giving up to 5,000 amateurs the opportunity to ride the route of The Tour of Britain, with the aim of raising over a million pounds for the charity.

Highland Spring was also recently announced as the official water sponsor for the Glasgow and Leicester Skyride, a partnership between British Cycling and Sky, which aims to get one million people cycling regularly by 2013.

Sally Stanley, marketing director of Highland Spring said: “The Tour of Britain has become one of the most prestigious events in Britain’s sporting calendar and we are proud to be the official beverage sponsor of the event.

“Cycling is growing exponentially as a sport and a pastime in the UK and by supporting the Tour of Britain and the Skyride series, Highland Spring is helping to encourage people of all ages and abilities to take up a sport that is sociable, fun and affordable.”
