In November, Digital Week will return to Leeds as it looks to grow across the Yorkshire region.

For its second year in a row, Digital Week will see a series of events, talks and workshops held to discuss and explore the future of Yorkshire’s digital and creative industries and will culminate with the DADI awards being held in the city for the second year running.

Digital Week is organised by Leeds Media, Holbeck Urban Village and Marketing Leeds while Yorkshire Forward has also made continued investment.

This year, Digital Week will aim to focus on buying local and will examine how towns and cities are becoming knowledge rich in particular subjects such as 3D design, social marketing, music, digital art practice, training and professional development.

Further events will be held across the region as more businesses are invited to get involved with events also being held in Huddersfield, Bradford, Sheffield and Scarborough.

Gillian Wallace, head of operations at Leeds Media, commented: “The expansion of Digital Week is further proof that Yorkshire’s creative and digital industries are weathering the economic storm and are well placed to innovate their way through the months ahead. Digital Week will gather together Yorkshire’s best who represent a sector of 123,025 people and bring £5.2bn value to the region.”

Leanne Buchan from Holbeck Urban Village, added: “It’s an exciting time for anyone working in this sector, and particularly in this region. Yorkshire’s place as a front-runner in the digital race is well documented already, but we need to stay at the top of our game, improve connections locally and reach out nationally. There are clear hubs of activity emerging in towns and cities across Yorkshire and the organisers felt it was the right time to broaden out Digital Week’s remit right across the region."
