ActionAid has appointed Brahm to create a marketing campaign to encourage more people in Yorkshire to sponsor children in poor communities.

Research by the charity identified Yorkshire as the most popular region for child sponsors, and so it has chosen the county as the focus for its first regionally-based marketing campaign in its 37-year history.

Leeds agency Brahm will be responsible for campaign strategy and creative delivery, working closely with ActionAid's child sponsorship and communications teams and media agency MediaVision.

Jennie York, supporter recruitment manager at ActionAid UK, said: "The new campaign will thank those people in Yorkshire who are already helping us by sponsoring a child, but it will also drive home the message that there are thousands more children around the world who need our help.”

The campaign will launch later this year. If it is a success, it is understood that further regional campaigns around the UK could follow.
