Trinity Mirror has announced that John Howard, group circulation manager and Lorraine Fraser, sales and marketing director for the Scottish Daily Record have taken on new senior roles.

Howard has been appointed as circulation director for the Nationals division of Trinity Mirror, while Fraser will take on the role of marketing director for the same division.

In the newly created role, Howard will take on operational responsibility for the circulation management and development of the company’s five national newspaper titles; the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, The People and in Scotland, the Daily Record and Sunday Mail.

Both will report directly to Mark Hollinshead, managing director of Trinity Mirror Nationals.

The reorganisation means that both John East, circulation director Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), and Tim Anderson, head of marketing MGN, will be leaving the business.

Hollinshead, said: “John has many years experience in front line newspaper sales management and his energy and focus on sales will prove highly effective as we progress with this exciting new division-wide approach to managing the performance of our newspapers.

“Likewise Lorraine will maximise the effectiveness of our marketing activity across the wider, five title, portfolio for which she will now be responsible.”

Hollinshead, added: “I would like to thank John and Tim for their valued contribution to the business over the years and wish them every success in the future.”
