Code Computerlove executive creative director, Wes Hogg, has left the Manchester digital agency seven months after joining from McCann Erickson Manchester.

Hogg's arrival in January brought Code's exhaustive search for a creative director to an end. But the Manchester agency is now having to resume the recruitment process after coming to a "mutual" agreement with Hogg about his departure.

At the time of writing it was not clear if Hogg, who was previously digital creative director at McCann Manchester, had left with a job to go to.

Tony Foggett, CEO at Code, confirmed that Hogg's departure was a "mutual decision" and described the "incredibly difficult" challenge facing the agency to find his successor.

"It is unfortunate. He is a great guy and I wish him all the best with his career in the future," Foggett told The Drum.

"We will now resume our search for a creative director for the business. It’s incredibly difficult to find senior creative talent outside of London with the experience that’s right for the digital sector.

"But I am hopeful, as there can’t be many opportunities in the region like this, to lead a team with so much talent and potential within a business and sector that is thriving in the downturn.”

Before joining Code Hogg held the role of digital creative director at McCann Erickson Manchester from 2007 and prior to that he worked in Bristol for digital agency E3.
