Rebecca Dobson, former project manager at Leeds-based Brahm has launched ‘Read by me’ a proofreading service targeted at a mix of both corporate and agency clients.

The service is intended to ensure content integrity and accuracy, eliminating mistakes at an early stage and avoiding costly reprints further down the line.

To launch the venture, designer Mark Starbuck has created a simple identity playing on the traditional idea of red pen mark-ups. This hand rendered type styling has been applied to initial applications, including stationery, a website and a launch mailer due out later this week.

Speaking of the new venture Dobson said: “In the current economic climate it is key both from a new business and client retention point of view that the way in which we communicate is free of both grammatical and literal errors, as these often indicate failings in other areas and by getting involved at an early stage, I hope to instil confidence in both the clients I work with and the consumers who view the end product.”
