Newcastle-based Gardiner Richardson has been appointed to create a brand identity for the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health.

It is one of five centres of excellence in public health in the UK, comprising Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside universities. The Centre works in collaboration with local government, NHS and others to transform health across the region. Its research will be used to improve health by raising understanding to change behaviour and tackle health inequalities.

Professor Martin White at the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health, said: “In order for the Centre to be a success, we require an instantly recognisable brand identity to help us build credibility with, and gain buy-in from, a wide range of partner organisations. Gardiner Richardson demonstrated a real understanding of what we needed.”

Darren Richardson, Director at Gardiner Richardson, said: “An identity is an outward expression of what a brand is. We will ensure what we develop for the Centre gains influence and importance and establishes a powerful connection with its partners and stakeholders.”

The agency also recently worked with North East Strategic Health Authority (SHA) to promote its partnership with the Tony Blair Sports Foundation (TBSF). The SHA has joined forces with the TBSF to reduce obesity and other health conditions by introducing rowing into the region’s schools.
