E4 has launched Grand Master Flash, the second annual Flash web game developer’s challenge with a top prize of £5,000.

E4’s Grand Master Flash competition celebrates the addictive, zeitgeisty, viral qualities of web-based Flash games, as nominated and voted for by viewers of the TV channel

To enter, budding or experienced Flash developers are asked to build a new game from scratch (or dust down one they’ve created in the past year) and upload it for consideration at HYPERLINK "http://www.e4.com/grandmasterflash"e4.com/grandmasterflash.

The closing date for entries is Monday 17 August, after which an E4 panel will choose a shortlist of their favourites to go head to head in a public vote.

Jody Smith, editor of E4.com said: “More people are making and playing web games than ever before. On E4 Games, we're lucky to already be working with some of the best game developers the web has to offer, and by holding this competition we're looking to find a whole new batch of genius game creators and celebrate the work they do. The public will decide the overall winner, so we're hoping the entries will entertain our audience too."

Grand Master Flash is part of the E4 Great British Summer of Games, a season-long celebration of great online gaming and new web talent.

Available at HYPERLINK "http://www.e4.com/games"e4.com/games, the site will also showcase fifteen new exclusive Flash games and host its very own awards ceremony – the E4 Game Awards.
