Lincolnshire County Council has worked with Studio View on a pilot scheme encouraging disadvantaged young people to try out new hobbies.

Studio View, based in Lincoln, prepared all marketing material for the 'Go For It!' project including its website, registration forms and the packs given out to young people.

More than 2,200 youngsters signed up for the government-funded scheme, which allowed them to try a range of activities from arts and crafts to driving lessons and fishing.

Studio View then made dynamic video clips of the youngsters trying out the activities for use on the Go For It! website.

Wayne Christian, co-director of Studio View, said: “On the microsite we wanted to feature young people having a go and enjoying the activities, and we were really pleased with the quality of the clips, and the way they demonstrated the success of the project.

"We also felt it was important to have members of the Go For It! team reviewing the success of the project as a whole.”

John Herbert, project manager for Empowering Young People at Lincolnshire County Council, added: “The microsite demonstrated the success of the Go For It! project, including detail of how it has affected young people. We have found that there has been increased levels of attendance in schools, better behaviour and an improvement in grades as a result of Go For It!.”
