Leeds digital marketing agency Swamp has created an extensive new website for housebuilder Persimmon Homes.

Persimmon claims it is “investing heavily in online marketing” despite the downturn in the housing market. But the company declined to confirm the scale of its investment when asked by The Drum.

The new site comprises 34,000 pages and enables visitors to view every single on of Persimmon's properties online.

“The Swamp team is especially proud of this site as all 34,000 pages were created and launched in just five months,” said Paul Mallett, managing partner at Swamp.

A 'home finder' on the site allows visitors to search for properties by location, number of bedrooms, price or property type. Properties are then shown on interactive maps with pictures and floorplans.

All Persimmon's regional sales teams around the UK can now update their own information and upload promotions onto the site using a customised CMS system, also developed by Swamp.

Rob Holden, group IT director at Persimmon, said: “Swamp had its work cut out as the project even included processing over 14,000 different images and 350 different flash movies. We believe that this new site sets the standard for house builders and will give us a competitive edge in today’s challenging market.”

Swamp is now working on further developments to the website, which will grow to include all the company's pre-owned homes and will feature full interactive site plans.

The agency's mother company, advertising agency Brahm, has worked with Persimmon on its national marketing activity for the last 10 years.
