Aberdeen-based Hampton Associates has acquired CLiK Development to add a new digital capability to its design and marketing service.

Set up in 2004 by fellow MSc graduates in E-Commerce Technology from the University of Aberdeen, CLiK Development currently offers web development, design and maintenance as well as e-commerce applications and software development.

CLiK founding directors David Kindness and Ewan Lyle have joined Hampton Associates as digital directors.

This first acquisition for Hampton Associates comes shortly after the announcement of a series of new business wins worth around £400,000 to the agency, which will now employ 14 people.

Founded by Mike Hampton in 1996, Hampton Associates is also one of only ten companies on the roster to provide design and marketing services to the Scottish Government.

Commenting on the deal, Mike Hampton said: "In today's increasingly digital world, our clients need to communicate their message through all on-line channels using the latest information technology. Truly effective websites, exploiting on-line social networking and making the most of digital marketing require specialist skills.

"Harnessing our own creative skills with the highly specialised digital skills of CLiK will enable us to offer a service that is unique in the North of Scotland."
