Don Smith, creative director at Realise and photographer Euan Myles have teamed up with MediaCom and STV to create a TV campaign for Alzheimer Scotland.

Smith was approached by the charity for advice, but having known people affected by the disease chose to enlist help to make it pro bono.

Myles used a still camera – a Canon 5D which also shoots HD video for the shoot – which gave him the first opportunity to direct.

Sean Japp at Mediacom and Ralph Ainsworth at STV, who have also known people affected by Alzheimer’s also gave their time and experience to help the campaign which saw a media deal concluded ‘on a limited budget’.

Stephen O’Donnell at STV Creative also gave the campaign its production and online editing services over to allow Smith and Miles to edit the piece to broadcast level.

Realise has also worked on intregrating the TV messages and imagery into the Alzheimer Scotland website, as well as helping with a number of online advertising and marketing projects for the charity.
