The client has also recently renewed its contract which will see it continue as lead sponsor until the 2011/2012 season.

The agency created a five minute video for this season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final between Scunthorpe United and Luton Town and it will also be used to generate interest at conferences and trade demos throughout the year.

Tom Newton, brand services marketing manager, said: “We wanted to bring colour to the beautiful game and the big screen video certainly played a part in creating a lasting impression with everyone at the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final!”

Rick Ward, joint creative director at Gratterpalm, the independent retail marketing agency based in Leeds said: “We wanted to make a real splash with this film, so the idea was a simple one. We literally splashed footballs, football shirts, boots and real players with several hundred litres of Johnstone’s paint."

Ward continued to explain: “We filmed using an innovative ultra-slow motion camera called the Phantom. This makes for some dramatic and beautiful moments, and the finished video had real impact. A finishing touch was to use a vibrant music track – ‘Colours’ by Calvin Harris.”
