Yorkshire ad agencies The Whole Caboodle and pgk advertising have joined forces after completing a merger.

Leeds-based The Whole Caboodle will retain its name following the merger but its staff will relocate to pgk's Harrogate base. All staff have been retained and the agency is now looking to recruit four new members to take its head count to 40.

In its new form, the agency says it will offer advertising, design, PR, event management, media planning and buying, new media and recruitment services.

Chris Mackenzie, managing partner in The Whole Caboodle and Karl Rahmani, pgk's MD, will be joint managing partners in the new business.

Mackenzie said the merger was born out of “desire rather than necessity”, but admitted it was “a benefit” to gain critical mass in the difficult economic climate.

"Karl and I have worked particularly well together in the past and are looking forward to this new venture enormously," Mackenzie said.

Rahmani added: “Chris and I have different skill sets and are looking forward to utilitising these to benefit the agency as a whole. Whilst I will be involved in a client facing role, Chris will be responsible for the day to day running of the business and our staff teams.”

The merger was overseen by accountants Baker Tilly.
