LeadsDesign has created a campaign to attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the Yorkshire and Humber region in the UK.

The ‘Share our Strength’ campaign aims to encourage more foreign investment into the region, to generate new jobs, create more business opportunities and raise the profile of the regional and local economy.

The campaign is based on the creation of a global news platform, delivering a series of news articles based on ‘topical and time relevant’ global business interests, produced by LeadsDesign.

The articles and features are published pan regionally across print, trade verticals as well as online, with primary partners through the FT & FT.com. The drive culminates in a featured ‘news platform’ hosted within the investinyorkshire.com site.

Aimed at key global decision-makers within FDI operations, the ‘news platform’ publicises the region’s accomplishments and promotes the development, success and achievement of the region’s environmental technologies, healthcare, and advanced engineering and material sectors. The campaign also endorses Yorkshire and Humber as the ideal location for overseas companies to invest in, despite the current economic pressures.

Theresa Lindsay, Yorkshire Forward’s assistant director, marketing and business development said: “International business is key to our economic growth. We are currently one of the top four locations in the UK for FDI with the region attracting an average of two investments a week during 2007/08. Although we now face the added challenge of promoting international trade opportunities during a global market down turn, we are confident that this campaign will continue to attract more foreign investment into the region”
