North East specialist recruitment consultancy Concept Personnel has completed its sixth year of trading by posting its best results to date.

Concept, which is a specialist recruitment agency for the advertising, marketing and digital media industries, has seen turnover rise by over 30 per cent in the last 12 months.

The Newcastle firm completed more business in the first eight months of 2008-2009 than in the whole of the previous year, expanding its client base in key areas around the UK.

Business growth was strong in Scotland, particularly in Edinburgh, where the company has worked hard to build its profile and establish strong links with the city’s creative sector.

The agency has also made encouraging steps into the Irish market, placing candidates with leading firms, as it broadens the geographic spread of its business activity.

Jo Carter, managing director of Concept Personnel, said: “It’s been an outstanding year, our best by far, and a reward for the hard work put in by the team. Achieving this sort of performance in the current climate is testament to our skills and growing reputation.”

The digital sector has also been a strong performer for Concept Personnel all year and this trend is expected to continue as some other sectors such as advertising and PR are affected by the slowdown.

Carter added: “The digital sector is booming nationally and internationally and that’s the case here in the North East too. It’s a dynamic, fast moving industry with some great talent and exceptional candidates. We look forward to further success in such an exciting and developing sector in the future.”
