Mere PR has been appointed by Ayuntamiento de Benidorm (the Benidorm Tourist Board) to manage a series of escorted media visits to the famous Spanish resort during 2009.

A favourite year-round destination, Benidorm is a long established sunshine resort on the Costa Blanca.

Mere PR will work with the tourist office to raise awareness of the destination with potential visitors from the north of England and encourage them to take a short break or lengthier holiday to the region.

In addition to some well deserved sunshine, journalists joining Mere PR on one of the planned visits will experience the best that Benidorm has to offer including its new hotel accommodations, restaurants, theme park attractions and, of course, the heady nightlife.

Tourist board representative, María José Montiel, commented: “With its excellent air links and low cost flights, the north of England is very important to Benidorm. We literally welcome thousands of visitors from the region every year and look forward to further increasing these numbers by working with Mere PR’s experienced travel team.”

Benidorm holds special memories for Mere PR CEO Tony Tighe who spent four years living and working in the resort in the mid 70s after leaving university.
