Turnbull takes new role following Gyro Merger
Gyro International, which has a UK office in Manchester, has merged with the US agency HSR, to form GyroHSR.
The merger gives Gyro significant additional scale and capabilities and aims to cement its position as one of the world’s leading integrated agencies.
As a result, Danny Turnbull, general manager of Gyro Manchester has been appointed as European practice leader for B2B Marketing.
The company will now have 600 staff in 17 offices around the world, including 250 people and five offices in the US.
Richard Glasson becomes CEO of GyroHSR, Richard Perry becomes global COO, GyroHSR and HSR co-founder Rick Segal, becomes Chief Executive, North America and GyroHSR’s global practice leader for business-to-business marketing.
The merger has taken a year to implement.
Locations now include Amsterdam, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Dubai, Dublin, Hamburg, London, Madrid, Manchester, Munich, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Stockholm.
Turnbull explained: “Gyro and HSR have been working together for some time and through the merger we now have a team of nearly 300 people in the US, giving us the ability to meet the needs of the largest global clients. Now that we have the largest and most respected B2B agency in the US in the group, our credentials in that area are second to none."
Turnbull continued: "The merger of the two agencies is a strategic move designed to respond to our clients’ needs and the rapidly changing market. GyroHSR in Manchester has a key strategic role to play in the continuing growth of the overall agency, and we’re excited to now have such a strong presence in the North American market. Moving forward we will also be looking for opportunities to expand our global footprint into the BRIC countries and beyond.”
A spokesperson for the agency told The Drum that for the moment each office would continued to be managed as it is and that it expects to grow the network while making new key appointments.
