Brown, MD of Trinity Mirror North East and Midlands departs

Steve Brown, managing director of the North East and Midland division of publishers Trinity Mirror is to be made redundant as part of a restructure.

It is understood that Brown left the company yesterday as the company reviews its businesses which has been hit by the current economic climate alongside tough times for sales and advertising in the industry.

Brown leaves the company following 15 years in the role as managing director in Teeside before moving to take the role of managing director for the North East and Midlands.

It is understood that a managing director will not be appointed and that four senior managers at the company John Griffith in Birmingham, Bob Cuffe in Teesside , Debbie Davies in Coventry and David Simms in Newcastle will continue to oversee their regions and report to Georgina Harvey, managing director for Trinity Mirror Regionals.

Mick Beale, Midlands regional finance director and Jane Nugent, Midlands business development manager are also set to depart the company.
