The first ad campaign has rolled out for bottled water industry body, the Natural Hydration Council (NHC) as it looks to help boost the decline in sales of bottled water.

Having pitched against several London agencies for the project, Glasgow based agency Merle created the campaign, which promotes the health benefits of hydration using the strapline ‘You ought to drink more water’.

The photography for the campaign was taken by Manchester based photographer Dave Short while the campaign website has been built by Guy Robertson Partnership.

Merle is the retained advertising agency for Highland Spring, the founding company of the NHC which includes Evian, Buxton, Volvic, Speyside Glenlivet and Harrogate Spa.

Stuart Anderson, creative director at Merle said winning the account against London competition was a great result for the Scottish industry.

"Official industry bodies quite often run work that has been created by committees, and potentially diluted. Not so with this - we're delighted with the way the NHC has worked with us to produce such a distinctive and bold campaign," said Anderson.

The campaign will run from April and May in the London area as it looks to reverse the fall in bottled water sales.
