Rail network Virgin Trains has appointed cxpartners to conduct a usability study and also redesign its website.

The Bristol based office of the design consultancy has been tasked to carry out usability testing on the Virgin Trains website to understand the way in which customers currently use the site, and how well it is performing.

The agency plans to review existing customer research, carry out eye tracking tests and send team members out into the field to watch customers at stations as they book and use Virgin Trains’ services.

Angela Oliver, digital manager at Virgin Trains, commented, “Whether a customer is browsing or buying a ticket we want to make virgintrains.com even easier to use. This period of research and re-development is a vital phase and we’re confident that cxpartners will support us in creating a website that is not only easier to use, but facilitates relevant and engaging user experiences that are true to our brand. ”
