The Scottish Government has appointed PR consultancy Consolidated to handle a brief for the Children’s panel following the first mini-competition for a PR project since the creation of the new roster.

The agency will work alongside Newhaven and Mediacom in as they look to deliver a recruitment awareness campaign attracting volunteer panel members.

Civic has been appointed to head up the digital side of the campaign.

The agency has also hired Amanda Howie and Lee-Ann Fullerton as senior account managers.

Howie, formerly of Petrofac, Aberdeenshire Council and Standard Life, joins the Edinburgh office to bolster the agency's corporate offering while Fullerton arrives from Learning Teaching Scotland, where she was senior press and communications adviser, to work on the agency's Scottish Government business.

Will Holt, director of Consolidated PR said: "Things are pretty lively at the moment. Amanda and Lee-Ann bring some tremendous in-house and journalist experience, and will help us create capacity for any new business that might be lurking round the corner.

"We're really pleased to have won the Children's Panel campaign. It's a sensitive issue, involving considerable stakeholder liaison that plays to our recruitment expertise. The challenge though will be finding the right sort of volunteers. People who not only want to make a real difference to a child's life but also can make the not inconsiderable commitment."
