International network of independent advertising agencies the ICOM UK agency Group has appointed Golley Slater as its UK representative.

Founded in 1950 in the US as the National Federation of Advertising Agencies, ICOM became the International Federation of Advertising Agencies in 1980 and adopted its current name in 1998 to reflect its expanded range of capabilities.

Headquartered in Rollinsville, Colorado, ICOM is owned by its members, agencies which are all locally-owned, independently controlled and managed. The most geographically balanced of the international independent advertising and marketing communications networks, ICOM has 77 members in 58 countries in Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia/Pacific and North America doing business all across the globe.

“ICOM is an ideal solution for clients that don't want big international networks full of bureaucracy, politics and mergers,” said Golley Slater CEO Chris Lovell.

"The network’s mission is to provide effective integrated communications resources for clients who want Global resources via their local agency but with a consistent and involved agency management that thoroughly understands local markets.

"This is a terrific opportunity for Golley Slater and our clients. We have a number of clients with growing international businesses and becoming ICOM's UK agency will add value to our service and USP.

“Each ICOM agency has in effect 90+ branch offices, access to non-proprietary information and the advice of more than 70 other chief executives. This is another important step in our evolution," added Lovell.
