The Drum has learned that Adrian Johnson has left Lucre PR in Leeds, the consultancy he joined around four years ago.

Previously at Poulters, Johnson quit the now defunct Leeds agency to join Lucre PR alongside former Poulters head of marketing Tamarind Wilson-Flint and former GBC board director Sophie Spyropoulos.

A joint statement from Lucre and Johnson said: “The decision to leave is based purely on the old board members' vision for the future of the company being different.”

Since the consultancy's launch, it has shaken up the Leeds PR scene with its results and objectives-based fee structure, which has attracted high profile clients such as Little Chef, Ronseal, Pernod Ricard, Disney Store and Holiday Extras.

Up until Johnson's departure last week, the consultancy had four shareholders: Wilson-Flint, Spyropoulos, Johnson and Sally Hetherington, who heads up the consultancy's London office, which was opened around two years ago.

When contacted Johnson declined to go into the details behind his split from Lucre, but did say: “I’m currently freelancing and available for PR consultancy in the short term, meanwhile I’m exploring a number of exciting opportunities for the future.”

Over the last four years the Lucre team has won five Gold Awards at the CIPR PRide Awards.
