Anheuser-Busch InBev UK is to shake up the marketing department at Tennents, making a number of redundancies, while InBev UK's current director of marketing Sandra Mitchell will rejoin the team.

It is understood that marketing manager Jane Cannon, senior sponsorship manager Elaine Forbes, senior brand manager Nicola Trainer and Wendy Espie will remain at Tennent's taking on new roles.

The team will be rejoined by Sandra Mitchell, director of marketing for InBev and former marketing manager for Tennents, who will lead the marketing team.

It is understood that John Mullen, brand manager, will leave as a result, while Kirsty Hunter, director of marketing at Tennent's is currently off on maternity leave and is yet to discuss her future.

An InBev UK spokeswoman said: “Following the recent merger, last December we announced the start of an ongoing review of all our operations. The review was also a response to challenging market conditions, exacerbated by record rises in beer taxation. Any specific proposals arising from the review will be communicated first to our employees who will be fully consulted.”
