Elmwood Edinburgh’s managing director Jo Coomber is set to leave the agency in the next couple of months having accepted a role at Standard Life.

Coomber will depart from the company in May to take on the role of head of marketing operations for the UK for the financial service provider but will remain in Edinburgh.

She will head up the marketing communications team and oversee the company’s marketing campaigns and product collateral through out the UK.

At the moment Elmwood is considering its next steps in appointing a successor to Coomber which may see an internal appointment made before Coomber’s departure.

Coomber told The Drum: “I am delighted by the opportunity ahead of me at Standard Life which fits well with my background in Marketing Communications from my days at Sony Ericsson, Reuters and the FT. I am really looking forward to working with the team at Standard Life. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two years at Elmwood and will be sad to say goodbye to Elmwood and our clients, but know that it will continue to be a great agency and I will be leaving them in experienced hands.”

Coomber joined Elmwood in 2007 following the departure of MD Nick Ramshaw who now heads up the agency's Leeds office.
