Around 30 members of the PPA Scotland are to gather at The Scottish Parliament next week to promote the magazine publishing industry in the country.

Industry leaders from companies such as DC Thomson, Carnyx Group, The List and Craven Publishing will meet with Jim Mather, MSP, Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism along with other MSP’s in Holyrood as they present their case at the first meeting of its kind in support of the industry.

They will be joined by representatives from Publishing Scotland, Edinburgh Napier and Stirling Universities, as well as from Skillset Scotland and the Copyright Licensing Agency.

Fraser Allen, chairman of PPA Scotland, will also present MSPs with a copy of Limited Edition – a one-off publication created by his company White Light Media, which carries articles highlighting the successes and challenges facing Scottish magazine publishers today.

The presentation to MSPs will concentrate on the creative and entrepreneurial resource available within the industry.
